How to nail the art of teaching
Workshop
Build Classes People Love
Join us for our “How to Nail the Art of Teaching” workshop — where we break down exactly what makes a class unforgettable and guide you step by step through creating classes people become obsessed with.
Because let’s be honest — anyone can teach exercises. But creating a feeling, an atmosphere, an experience that keeps clients rebooking, recommending you to their friends, and refusing to miss your class? That’s an art form. And at Elm Studios, we’ve mastered it.
If class planning feels like the hurdle you just can’t quite clear, we’ve got you covered. We’ll teach you not only how to create impactful, intelligently programmed classes, but also how to approach planning with confidence, creativity, and intention. Plus, you’ll gain access to our online repertoire of ready-to-go class plans, saving you hours of preparation time so you can focus on what really matters — delivering an incredible experience for your clients.
But great teaching is about so much more than planning.
The Elm Studios Teaching Method
We deep dive into cueing — how to use your words both literally and figuratively so they land perfectly and your class responds exactly as you intend. The right cue at the right moment can completely transform how a client moves and feels in your class. We teach you how to communicate with clarity, authority, personality, and impact — without sounding robotic or like you memorised a script five minutes before class.
Because nobody wants to sound like a fitness tape recorder.
We cover customer service too, because the personal connection you create is a huge part of why clients return. People remember how you made them feel. Your classes should feel welcoming, polished, professional, motivating, and genuinely you.
We talk music — and trust us, there’s a huge difference between music that motivates and music that distracts. We’ll teach you how to use it as a tool to elevate the room, not overpower it.
You’ll also learn the importance of hands-on correction — understanding what you should actually be looking for and how to confidently guide clients safely and effectively. We focus heavily on demonstration skills too, because you need to look and feel like the expert in the room. Many clients rely on visual learning, and strong demonstrations build trust, confidence, and credibility.
At Elm Studios, we are complete geeks about this process.
We believe every class should feel like an experience — a journey your clients go on from beginning to end. Teaching is a performance in the best sense of the word. Your class is your audience, and great instruction takes projection, confidence, humour, personality, expertise, storytelling, authenticity, and energy. You need a beginning, middle, and end. You need to make people feel something.
Ever been to a class where the instructor sounds like a tape recording? Don’t let that be you. Genuine, sincere coaching always lands better.
And yes — we’ll also teach you the things no one else tells you.
Included in this training is guidance on how to market yourself as an instructor, social media support, business advice, how to approach studios professionally and confidently, and an honest behind-the-scenes look at what becoming a studio owner actually involves.
There’s no gatekeeping here.
We want instructors to win. We want you to feel confident walking into studios, building your brand, growing your classes, and understanding the industry beyond simply teaching exercises.
The training begins with a 45-minute class, giving you the full Elm Studios experience and showing you exactly why we consider ourselves experts at what we do.
