About
Elm Studios
Our Story
Elm Studios first opened its doors on 4th January 2025, founded by Emma Mack. What began as a dream quickly became something truly special. Despite years of entrepreneurial experience, launch day brought plenty of nerves—and a whole lot of heart. In fact, Emma was so anxious that she only invited close friends and family to celebrate the evening before opening, choosing an intimate, meaningful start to what she hoped would become something extraordinary.
Failure simply wasn’t an option—it never is when something matters this much.
From day one, Emma poured everything into Elm Studios, spending seven days a week in the studio and personally welcoming every single client with warmth, energy, and genuine care. She believed deeply that first impressions matter, and she was determined to create something refreshingly different. Having experienced the exclusivity and intimidation that can exist within the Pilates industry, Emma set out to build a space where everyone felt comfortable, confident, and truly at home. Her philosophy has always been simple and unwavering: Pilates is for everybody.
That commitment paid off in the most incredible way. Within the first month, Elm Studios welcomed more than 1,000 clients through its doors—a milestone that felt both surreal and deeply rewarding. It proved that when passion meets purpose, amazing things really do happen.
For the first eight weeks, Emma taught more than 50 classes every week herself. It was physically demanding and emotionally intense, but seeing the community grow, class by class, made every early morning and late evening more than worthwhile. When Jadella joined as Elm Studios’ very first instructor, Emma admits there were tears—this time, tears of relief and pride. Today, Jadella is our Head Trainer and an essential part of the Elm story.
By February 2025, just weeks after opening, Emma had already signed for a second studio—a bold step driven by overwhelming demand and belief in what Elm Studios was becoming. Thanks to the incredible support of the landlords—who had witnessed the magic of the community firsthand—they agreed to build the next studio entirely to Emma’s vision.
As Elm continued to grow, so did the challenge of finding instructors who shared the same passion, kindness, and commitment to excellence. Rather than compromise on the values that made Elm Studios so special, Emma chose to create something new.
She created The Elm Academy.
Designed with care and intention, The Elm Academy was built to elevate the standard of Reformer Pilates education. It bridges the gaps Emma had identified in traditional training, offering a more supportive, empowering, and real-world approach. The Academy has since flourished, producing confident, knowledgeable, and highly sought-after instructors—many of whom now teach in studios across the country. Under Emma’s mentorship, the journey doesn’t end at qualification; it continues within a vibrant, uplifting community dedicated to growth, learning, and excellence.
Emma remains deeply connected to the Pilates industry, collaborating with studio owners and leaders while continually investing in her own development. She travels internationally to attend specialist workshops and advanced training, ensuring Elm Studios stays fresh, inspired, and always evolving—for both clients and instructors alike.
In our very first year, Elm Studios celebrated more than 12,000 bookings—a milestone that exceeded every expectation and filled us with immense gratitude.
On 6th June 2026, our second home opened in the beautiful village of Hastingwood. Set within another stunning barn conversion, the new studio is twice the size, featuring 16 Reformer beds, space for 10 mat participants, and a few exciting surprises that we can’t wait to share.
Today, our carefully chosen team delivers classes seven days a week with the same energy, warmth, and passion that started it all. We pride ourselves on knowing our members by name—even from their very first visit—because making people feel seen, supported, and valued is at the very heart of Elm Studios.
We’re more than a Pilates studio.
We’re a community—and we’re so glad you’re part of it.

Founder and Owner
A former professional dancer and graduate of the Urdang academy on a full scholarship, with a diploma in professional dance. With ballet being an integral part of any dancer’s life for core stability and technique, it directly connects to the principles of Pilates. Hence many Pilates disciplines from the creator of Pilates - Joseph Pilates - originate from professional dance backgrounds .
“I found my love for Pilates many years ago whilst training at college. It formed part of our weekly timetable to help with core strength and injuries. Fast forward some years, my passion for Reformer Pilates has expanded into an obsession for this style of training.”
“Since gaining a qualification in this field and experience in teaching, I feel passionate about combining all the elements that I love in to my own unique teaching style involving technique, rhythm, breathing, music and moving collectively.
The joy of creating a community and helping people reach their goals, all whilst doing what I love in my gorgeous studio, makes me really the luckiest girl in the world!”

“Every moment of our life can be the beginning of great things.” — Joseph Pilates
“Years ago, I attended a Reformer Pilates class and very quickly became obsessed. Committing fully to something I love—pushing myself beyond limitations and building strength beyond what I thought was possible—is incredible.
As a young female, I never connected with traditional sports, but when I found Pilates, everything changed. Without even realizing it, I came to truly believe that Pilates is mind over matter—and it is the mind itself that builds the body.
Seeing firsthand the desire and benefits of Pilates, I am deeply passionate about helping others on their Pilates journey. Together, let’s build a stronger core and a stronger mind.”
Jessica Wells
Instructor
“I’ve been dancing for as long as I can remember—a passion that led me to earn a Dance Diploma at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. During my training, I developed a deep appreciation for the body, technique, and the power of physical expression. This naturally guided me towards Pilates, where I discovered a true passion for mindful movement and functional strength.
Today, I combine my dance background with my Pilates training to help others move with confidence, improve posture, build strength, and feel great in their bodies. Whether your goal is to refine alignment, develop strength, or simply reconnect with movement for the joy of it, I’m dedicated to guiding and supporting you every step of the way.”

“I am a fully qualified Level 3 Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor with a long-standing passion for health and wellness. Over the years, my knowledge and experience have continued to grow, shaping not only my career but also my lifestyle.
For me, Pilates is so much more than exercise—it’s a practice that supports both my physical and mental wellbeing. My goal is to share this passion with every person I have the privilege to teach, helping you feel stronger, more balanced, and more connected to your body.
Can’t wait to see you in class!”
Sarah Gillett
Instructor
I first discovered Pilates doing prenatal and postnatal programmes and immediately fell in love with it. I have practised different methods regularly and over the past few years I have expanded my practice to Reformer Pilates, which has since become my absolute obsession.
Pilates has become something I love sharing with friends and family, and one of my favourite things is practising with my daughter, Lottie. It’s a form of movement that brings people together, lifts your energy, and leaves you feeling stronger both physically and mentally.
As my passion has evolved over the years, I have immersed myself further by attending retreats, advanced courses, and workshops, while continuing to deepen my understanding of the method. That journey has naturally led me to elevate my practice and commit to becoming an instructor with the Elm Academy.
The uplifting atmosphere, supportive community, and results-driven sessions at Elm are what inspire me most. I’m excited to share my love of Reformer Pilates and help others experience just how strong, capable, and empowered they truly are.

“What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession, and I knew I wanted to take my Pilates practice further. Coming from a dance background, technique and precision have always been incredibly important to me.
As an instructor, I’m passionate about helping clients build strong foundations, move with control, and truly understand their bodies. I completed my training at the Elm Academy, where I had the opportunity to learn from some of the very best. I’m so excited to now be part of the team and share my love for Reformer Pilates with the Elm community.”

“My obsession with Pilates began over two years ago, and I have been hooked on the magic of movement ever since. With over hours upon hours of class experience, Pilates completely transformed the way I move and feel, and I love being able to share that with others. I bring a bubbly, energetic and inclusive vibe to every class, and I’m all about helping you push your limits in a supportive way.
My sessions are powerful, dynamic and designed to leave you feeling unstoppable. You can expect strong, challenging flows (I love a good burn!) balanced with plenty of encouragement and good energy throughout. My goal is simple: to help you feel stronger, more confident, and maybe even spark your own Pilates obsession along the way.”
